At the heart of every freemason - Charity
Charity has always been at the very heart of Freemasonry and remains one of the core principles upon which our fraternity is built. Freemasons are taught the importance of helping others, supporting those in need and making a positive difference within the communities around us. While Freemasonry is often known for its traditions and ceremonies, its true strength is found in the values of compassion, kindness and charitable giving that unite its members. Each year, the newly elected Worshipful Master chooses a charity for the lodge to support throughout his year in office, with the support of his Wardens and Charity Steward, who work tirelessly to organise events, fundraising activities and donations in aid of their chosen cause.
For the years 2025 and 2026, Ave Fenix Lodge is proud to support Asociación Autismo Sur, a local charity carrying out incredible work for children, young people and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder across the south of Tenerife. Through fundraising, awareness and continued support, we hope to help them continue the valuable work they do within our community and make a meaningful difference to the lives of the families they support every day.
Their work includes specialist therapies, educational support, family guidance and activities designed to help those with autism develop communication, confidence, independence and social skills in a safe and supportive environment. They also provide valuable support to parents and carers, helping families feel understood, connected and less alone in the challenges they may face.
Beyond their day-to-day support services, the organisation works hard to promote awareness, inclusion and acceptance within the wider community. Through workshops, events, inclusive activities and outreach programmes, they help create a more understanding and supportive society for people living with autism.
As a charity that relies heavily on donations and community support, the work they do has a genuine and lasting impact on many local families. Ave Fenix Lodge is honoured to play a small part in supporting their efforts and helping them continue the important work they do throughout Tenerife.
